Easy Password Tip for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Did you know that October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month? The main initiative of this month is to help lower the number of cyberattacks and data breaches, by showing the community easy and effective ways to help you stay safe online. We’ll be sharing tips every few days, so be sure to check back soon!
Use Strong Passwords & Utilize The Passwords App
One of the easiest ways to protect yourself online is to use strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts. You should also try to change those passwords every six months. Unfortunately, using simple passwords like “password” or “123456” makes it incredibly easy for hackers to access your information. You’ll want to use a combination of words, letters, numbers, and special characters to create strong passwords.
Remembering all of those passwords can be a pain, but thankfully, Apple’s new password app makes it easier than ever to keep yourself protected. This app generates strong passwords, supports passkeys, and offers autofill capabilities for seamless sign-ins across apps. Additionally, it imports data from iCloud Keychain to ensure that you can easily sign in to websites and accounts across all of your Apple devices.
By following these simple tips and staying in the loop, you’re already making a big move to protect yourself online.
